| Featured flute recording Frank Martin: Ballades
While not entirely a "flute" CD, the flute is prominent in the orchestra on the first five ballades and is featured on the last piece, which is a favorite of mine. In this, Martin has written a piece which takes into account the tonal characteristics of the whole range of the flute with a very beautiful result. |
There are some months it's difficult to come up with something to say.
As you might guess, this is one of them.
It's been a somewhat chaotic month, with the first week being taken up by the last week on my old job, the second week on vacation, the third week with a friend from out of town visiting and the last week getting settled into a new job.
So did I practice much?
No.
Can I feel the effects?
Yes.
Can I hear the effects?
Yes.
Will I let another month like this go by?
I sure hope not.
But I will say, that Discovery Cove is very cool and well worth the high price of admission.
